Wootz Calculator V3 (Elemental Percentage)

Overview

The calculator supports two modes: Calculate by Ingredient and Calculate by Element %. Enter your total ingot weight, choose a Filler material, then add rows. Click Calculate to see a detailed composition and ingredient breakdown.

Calculate by Ingredient

• Select an Ingredient and enter its Weight (g), or enter % to auto-compute weight from the total.
• Pick a Filler. Any remaining grams (total − sum of rows) go to the filler.
• Click Calculate to see element grams and percents. The loader shows while the math runs.

Calculate by Element %

• Add a row for each Element, set the Target %, and pick the feed material that supplies it.
• The solver starts with naïve grams (e.g., for Cr: target_g / supplier_%) then runs a correction loop to trim overshoot and top up undershoot caused by cross-contributions.
• If an element still overshoots after its supplier hits 0 g, a warning explains that other materials are pushing it over the target.
• Total weight is kept constant by adjusting the Filler.

Recipes, Notes, Ratings

• Save Recipe stores the current setup (mode, total, filler, rows). You can load or delete from Your Recipes.
• Notes uses the WordPress Media Library: paste/drag images, or click the picker to insert from Media.
• Ratings: set Pattern Formation, Forgeability, and Overall, then Save Ratings.

Results Modal

• Calculated Composition lists all elements (zeros included).
• Ingredient Breakdown shows each material’s grams; filler is included (may be 0 g).
• Use Print / PDF to generate a centered PDF with the Recipe name and your forum display name. It both opens a preview and downloads a file named after the recipe.

Materials (CRUD)

• Add or edit materials in Your Feed Materials. Enter % for elements present in that stock (e.g., Fe, C, Mn, Cr...).
• These percentages drive both ingredient roll-ups and element-target planning.
